Projects

The first work package lays the foundation for improving meteorological forecasts.

The second work package focuses on how extreme precipitation leads to extreme discharges. For that reason it is of great importance to know how streams and rivers react to precipitation.

In the third work package, we zoom in on the cross-border river Rur, which is partly fed for water reservoirs on the German side.

In work package four, based on the experiences in 2021, the effects of floating debris will be mapped out and the behaviour of floating debris will be calculated with an experimental model.

In work package 5 we investigate the impact and effects at the moment that a flood occurs or has occurred.

In work package 6 the lessons are worked out at the level of a river system, opting for the cross-border river Wurm and also on some Belgian rivers.
