Partner meeting EMFloodResilience Geilenkirchen

Last week in Geilenkirchen was the second partner meeting of the international Interreg project EMFloodResilience, in which Limburg, Belgium and North Rhine-Westphalia work together to prepare better and safer for flood situations such as in 2021. First results have been presented and we have discussed the lessons learned from Wasserverband Eifel-Rur during the watercrisis of 2021, improvements of the prediction models, how we can share content data across borders and translate it into clear texts that everyone can understand. All products within this Interreg project must be completed by the end of this year. These are projects that are about strengthening cross-border collaborations, improving weather and water forecasts, strengthening crisis response and making spatial planning more climate-proof.
